Stories from the Salvation Times, Part 8

The members of the Salvation Times learned that Sky Blue was the orphaned child of a former war hero of the Brelish army who had been dishonorably discharged and had reportedly perished somewhere in Cyre during the Last War. Sky Blue believed that her father was still alive and was intent on finding him in the Mournland.

Before she could leave Sharn, she had a few more stops to make around the city. The Salvation Times team accompanied her on her final errands. They helped her say farewell to an old friend in a griffon stable by distracting the stable’s guards. They followed her to a ruined bridge and scared off a gang of werebats while Sky Blue recovered her hidden stash. They guarded her from members of the Fallen Fangs gang that accosted her in a soup kitchen by appealing to their better nature and joining the gang members in a drinking contest. Meanwhile, Sky Blue handed out the contents of her stash to the poor and impoverished people in the soup kitchen, many of whom were refugees from Cyre.

Finally, when she was ready to depart, Sky Blue said her last farewell to her old friend Stormflower, who had been released by Flamewind. While the thief and bard said their goodbyes, the Salvation Times team had unfinished business of their own to attend to.

Elynvashir and Sava visited Flamewind and left the Oracle of War in her care, requesting her to keep its secrets to herself and those members of the faculty at Morgrave University who could be trusted. Meanwhile, Gerkin had been commissioned by the Aereni diplomat Lysanthir to create a new outfit, which he completed with the help of Lanfear and Valenn. While completing the outfit, he had a startling revelation from Lysanthir who revealed that Irulan Karnach was in fact Kalli Alran, who had been a double agent operating in Karrnath.

When the party regrouped, they attempted to contact Ivello d’Medani with a sending spell to find Kalli Alran’s hideout. Some time passed before he replied and gave them the location of a safehouse in Lower Dura. The party raided the safehouse, where Kalli had laid a trap with a force of Karnnathi undead soldiers and members of the Fallen Fangs. After a desperate battle, in which Ivello had perished, the heroes defeated their former friend Kalli, whose body was carried away by the gnoll leader of the Fallen Fangs.

With the threat of the Emerald Claw in Sharn finally put to an end and the Oracle of War left in the safe keeping of Flamewind, the members of the Salvation Times and Sky Blue set out for Salvation Outpost in the Mournland.
