Player Characters: Balkris, Fie, R. Sativus, Charles Xavier
Having in their possession an encrypted letter, Balkris and R. Sativus set out to find a codebreaker to unlock its contents. They were briefly joined by Charles Xavier, a freelance mercenary and criminal acquiantance of R. Sativus. Together, they visited the Shady Gnome, a tavern in Middle Dura frequented by gnomes of House Sivis, located across the street from a speaking stone station. They befriended Fara, a gnome worker at the nearby speaking stone station, who invited Charles Xavier to visit after working hours.
The party spent the afternoon carousing in Lower Dura. Charles Xavier picked a street fight with members of the Callestan Clash, a local gang well known for their games of chance. Together, Balkris and Charles Xavier fought in a two-on-one match against Butch, a grizzled dwarf street fighter. Fie appeared among the gathering crowd and drew in a bigger audience to watch the street fight. R. Sativus made a bet with a one-eyed gnome named Wizdil from the Callestan Clash. While chatting with the other members of the Clash, R. Sativus heard rumors about a secret building project in the Cogs that was attracting large numbers of goblin workers, and rumors of deadly terrorist attacks on speaking stone stations in which warforged were being implicated. After a tough battle, Balkris and Charles Xavier narrowly won against Butch. Wizdil did not have the money to cover his bet and was force to offer a favor from the Callestan Clash as payment.
Following an eventful afternoon, the adventurers went their separate ways for the evening. But when Charles arrived at the speaking stone station to pick up Fara, he discovered a hostage situation inside the building. Two warforged terrorists, servants of a warforged messiah called the Lord of Blades, were holding the gnome workers hostage and killing them one by one. Charles distracted the warforged and contacted R. Sativus (via the rat familiar sent with him) who in turn gathered together their companions. When Fie arrived, he transformed into a warforged and entered the station, pretending to be a follower of the Lord of Blades. She learned that the true objective of the warforged was a Brelish secret agent named Talda. Fie convinced the warforged to leave the station to go after their real target who was bound for the capital city of Wroat on the lightning rail.
The heroes, having rescued the gnome workers, followed the warforged to Terminus Station and boarded their train. They found them together with a third warforged as they tried to murder the Brelish agent. The heroes forced the warforged off the train and defeated them, although one of the warforged managed to escape.
